LadyEsmeralda Cosmetics is more than just a beauty brand—it’s an example of strength and resilience, inspired by the life of our beloved sister. Esmeralda was the essence of beauty, with a love and appreciation for makeup that was only rivaled by her passion for helping others.

Esmeralda, who managed intellectual disabilities, had an unwavering spirit and a zest for life that inspired those around her. From the time she was young, Esmeralda loved wearing bright red lipstick and would never leave the house without it. Throughout her life, red lipstick was more than just a beauty product—it was a symbol of her strength and courage in the face of adversity.

It’s with this spirit in mind that we created LadyEsmeralda Cosmetics. This story is in honor of you, Esmeralda: our heart, our life, our lady in red.

2. Our Red Lipstick Line: Keeping Esmeralda’s Story Alive

At Lady Esmeralda’s, our signature red lipstick line is a tribute to our sister, who taught us the importance of staying true to ourselves and helping others in need. She was the embodiment of beauty, love, and power—and our red lipstick line is an homage to her and all she stood for our family and the disability community.

Esmeralda’s first job was in a bakery, and she loved it. She gained her first paycheck of $10 and felt immense pride at the money she’d earned with nothing more than hard work. Even though she didn’t understand its value initially, this experience instilled within her an appreciation of money. Whenever she got paid, she would buy lipsticks and ice cream—two of her favorite things.

The money she made inspired her to give back—which is why we donate 5% of our sales to disability organizations, including Easterseals. This program was the first adult disability workshop center Esmeralda attended and where she met many of her friends. They provided guidance and close support to encourage her independence, qualifications, and empowerment. We reinvest our profits and consider expanding our development of accessibility products a top priority—because everyone should be able to confidently apply and wear cosmetics that brighten their lives.

3. Intellectual Disability: Breaking Down Barriers

When Esmeralda was born, the world didn’t know much about Intellectual Disability (ID). But with her love for life and zest for beauty, she broke down barriers in a way few ever have before her.

Esmeralda’s story is a reminder of the power of beauty, and that everybody has value and should be respected and supported. Intellectual disability is not an obstacle to beauty —every can people express themselves the way want without being judged.

We are proud to support disability organizations, which provide vital services for individuals with intellectual disabilities. They help people find jobs and gain independence in order to live fulfilled lives—just like Esmeralda! We’re committed to creating a world where everyone is supported and accepted, no matter who they are. Intellectual Disability isn’t something that holds us back—it’s something that should be accepted, included, and talked about.
